CLEVELAND, OH, October 23, 2006 - Grantwood Technology, LLC, today announced the release of the Shoe Pouch™, shipping November 1, 2006.
The Shoe Pouch™ was designed by Grantwood Technology, LLC to allow runners and walkers to use the Nike+iPod Sport Kit® with shoes other than the Nike+® shoes. For any number of valid reasons, many people prefer to wear Asics®, New Balance®, Saucony®, Brooks®, etc. and even Nike® shoes that are not Nike+®. We wanted people to be able to use the Nike+iPod Sport Kit® with any style of shoe.
"We use the Shoe Pouch™ ourselves and we designed it to our specifications," explained Michael Banks, MD, co-founder and CEO of Grantwood Technology, LLC. "We obviously wanted to minimize the risk of the sensor coming loose while exercising, so by enclosing it in a stretchable fabric and attaching it through the shoelaces, we were able to ensure a snug fit, while still retaining the full accuracy of the device. Because it attaches securely, some of our initial customers have chosen to store other items such as coins, small keys, and even the wireless receiver from the sport kit itself."
The Shoe Pouch™ is compatible with any shoe with laces. Because our current online store only allows fixed shipping and handling costs, we have different prices for US and non-US customers, so that we can recover our increased shipping costs to non-US destinations. The prices are as follows:
